Click to read Skip Beat! Chapter 145, an unexpectedly early scanslation at MangaFox!
I’ve been saying this since March: reading Skip Beat! this year has made it feel like the longest Valentine’s Day ever. Not that it’s not a great arc, it’s just, “Ohmygod. When is this ever going to be over?” Is the wait worth it? After reading 145, yes, I think it is
Nakamura had to be planning something nuts (a love triangle like this is to die for!) but I think there’s still going to be a ton of crazy things to come! The arc’s not over yet–and, I know it’s driving all of you guys crazy–we still don’t know what Kyoko got Ren!
BOO to no updates until mid-September. That’s pretty harsh for us hardcore Skip Beat! fans
Moving on: I’m a pretty faithful Franky-House person, but my friend was so insistent on this chapter that I had to go ahead and spoil myself. Quick thanks to the wonderful people who set this up:
Raws: Mechgouki
Editor: Kaoru-sama
Translator: Blue Light Translations
Keep up the great work!

LYYYYYYYYYYYL! *cries*
(Oh yeah, and…the Ren/Kyoko fans are some of them quite upset, but I’m as rigid a ‘Renko’ fan as any and I was happy about it because I think Sho just rang his own death knell. Whenever Sho gets something from Kyoko, usually by taking or tricking it out of the situation, Ren later gets a sweet moment. The more Sho takes, the sweeter the recompense to Ren afterwards. This one is a doozy. I really don’t know how anyone can think Kyoko and Sho are even POSSIBLE as an outcome…Sho has barely been developed as a character. We know next to nothing about his thoughts…we never see his life except as it impacts Kyoko. He’s NOT a main character…he’s a main side character, or perhaps the central antagonist. And his actions toward Kyoko are still all selfish, no matter how he feels about her. 145 made me gleeful in a ‘Renko’ kind of way, so I don’t know what fans of them are panicking about or what the Sho fans are celebrating. This doesn’t mean anything good for Sho/Kyoko, imo.)
But MAINLY…LYYYYYL! *cries*

♥ MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL!!! ♥
I send you big warm digital hugs from the great Golden State! I’m alive! How are you?! How long has it been–six months? Eight?! Good god, are we still online friends?! How’ve you been? How are those Skip Beat n00bies treating you on the forums? Are they still driving you nuts?
I bet they are.
Just let me say, “Holy crap.” There are a ton of new Skip Beat! obsess-ies. The fandom is so big now! The last time I was on FanFiction.net, there were only 5 pages or so; now there’s 17! That’s impressive–frightening, but impressive. I skimmed through them but didn’t see anything to read. Feel free to poke me if I should, though!
(Re: 145–I feel the same way! I think something “big” needs to happen to force Ren to make a move; he’s just too concerned about being a respectful Senpai. Sho’s dumb-nut move might be just the thing. You’re dead-on about him digging his own grave; Kyoko’s too emotionally stunted in that way towards him. It’s just not going to be good for him next chapter
Maybe, maybe, it’ll make Ren angry, but it’s not going to sway Kyoko feelings in Sho’s favor. Ah, this might make Kyoko/Ren fans angry, but I love watching Sho instigate! Don’t get me wrong; I love Ren, but I like Sho, too! LOL I can’t wait to see how it all unravels

You leeeeffft me! *pouts*
This chapter revitalized my interest quite a bit though I’ve already deleted my SB LJ and removed several of my fics (almost half) from FFnet. I just don’t want to talk to fellow fans about it any more, it seems. Friends are still good to talk to about it, but just other people in the fandom? No. I’ve been doing that for too long to find it interesting any more.

You deleted your SB LJ?! I did notice that you deleted some of your FanFics, but your LJ?!
That makes me a little sad. It was so pretty and filled with fluff!
I finally got my Best to read SB! and now she’s more obsessed than I am (which happens when you’ve stuck around for so long, AND the wait for new releases takes a big toll on you when you have real life to attend to. It’s been over two-three years, hasn’t it? I think we’re allowed a little forgiveness for being impatient. A lot of strange things happened to me this summer and it really made me not want to go on the Internet as much, not even for blogging, surfing, or checking Skip Beat updates. It also didn’t help that I wasn’t really thrilled with the Anime.) So my Best friend was the one that flipped out when 145 was released, and now she wants me to pick up my FanFiction habits again. I’m thinking about it, but I think not
Maybe
I’m currently taking a big leap of inspiration from you and few others to write down my own fiction… I have a few stories rattling around in my head, but there’s only one with a full middle, beginning and end with a decent plot, so I’m working on that now. I’ve just come to realize that writing FanFiction is a big distraction. It’s a lot of fun, but I want to write down my own stories–even if I never get published.
I’m sorry I left you
You’re a big shiny happy place in my Skip Beat world

Yeah, my SB LJ is gone. Not my regular LJ of course, but Pomme de Miel is gone. And it’s too bad, I guess…I’m not sure you even saw The Necessary Thing, as it was ONLY on there and I have no intention of ever adding it to FFnet because I just don’t think it fits.
I write for myself, of course…I’d pay to get OUT of being published, unless somehow I could be guaranteed 100% anonymity and not having to be exposed to readers. I just don’t like sharing…I’m not really interested in knowing what random readers think of my thoughts…because that’s what my writing is…my experiences and thoughts being given a more interesting frame.
Don’t leave me again, Bad Lyl. :{ At least poke your head on once a month or something, SOMEwhere… It doesn’t have to be about SB, y’know! I may meet people in fandom but I like them because they’re THEM, not just because they read the same manga I do…
